It often happens that the sleepers in tracks and turnouts are biologically decayed in the case of wood or transversely broken in the case of concrete. As a result, they can no longer absorb the lateral forces resulting from railroad operation. The required and necessary track gauge between the rails is then no longer guaranteed.
To maintain the connection between the rails, a gauge bar (track maintenance bracket) is used for this purpose in track construction. This cost-effective method ensures track holding capability in tracks and turnouts.
The gauge bar can be used universally in any rail area. The length of its threaded rod also provides the connection between the stock rails in the front tongue area. If necessary, longer or shorter threaded rods can be used to cover the entire tongue and stock rail area.
Technical specifications:
- Total weight of the complete gauge bar: approx. 27 kg
- Length of the standard threaded rod: 2.20 m (changes possible if required or on request!)
- Applicable for the following profiles: S49 / S54 / UIC 60 (other profiles on request)
Your advantages at a glance:
- Extends the durability of installed track and turnout sleepers
- Low weight due to steel components, which are manufactured in galvanized design
- Installation time by only one person is approx. 15 minutes
- Cost reduction compared to a corresponding sleeper replacement
